GO Health & Spectrifin Charity Event -30 March 2019

Spectrifin, Lifeline and Go Health Club have joined forces for the awareness of mentail health and the effects of exercise on it.

We had teams of two work up a sweat all in the name of charity. The event took place at the Tygervalley Go Health Club.

Our teams tackled the cycling and treadmill challenges and ended the event off with a nice Zuma session.

Beach Clean up Big Bay - February 2019

We at Spectrifin has taken the time to continue our annual beach clean up. This year we headed down to big bay beach!

Apon our arrival we were greeted by friendly beachgoers and a couple of surfers.

Before starting off, we surveyed the area and to our amazement the beach was quite clean.

Not giving up right away we decided to walk down the coast for further inspection and to our surprise we stumbled across a huge amount of cigarette buds and broken glass.

Our bags were filled with glass, cigarette buds and plastic waste.

Spectrifin urges ALL BEACH GOERS to please discard your waste properly, lets set an example for our younger generation and take care of our ocean.

Remember, Recycle, Re-use and Reduce!

Anti Animal Cruelty League - Donations and Volunteering - 27 July 2018

This month was all about giving back in honour of Madiba.

We decided to find a worthy cause to donate our time to and Anti Animal Cruelty was top of our list, so we began collecting food items, animal toys and luxuries to make the lives of their animals waiting for forever homes a little more comfortable.

On Friday the 27th of July we went to visit the animal shelter and met with Helen, who gave us a tour and most IMPORTANTLY educated us on the importance of contributing to this worthy cause in the form of time, money or things.

She also emphasised the importance of sterilisation, vaccinations and SANITISATION to prevent the spread of germs.

We walked around meeting each and every single dog, puppy, kitten and cat (in their respective
Sections) and we tried our very best to play with them all and give them some much needed TLC.

This organisation is desperately in need as they are a non-profit organisation with many dogs and cats to care for, their sole purpose is to rescue and raise abused and abandoned animals while searching for their forever homes (which some times never comes).

As they say their motto is “adopt don’t shop!”

Giving back to these innocent animals was a heart-warming experience, the gifts donated were really appreciated and we trust that the animals will thoroughly enjoy their new toys!

To help support their cause either by donation or volunteering visit their website here.

Wellness Presentation and Workshop - February 2018

An event lead by our marketing department aimed to encourage staff to participate in cleaning up our environment while at the same time it hoped to raise awareness for this current very IMPORTANT issue of waste and non-biodegradable products which can be harmful to people and planet.

The movement motivates businesses to become more eco-friendly through recycling and rethinking plastic where possible.

A group of staff members and invited guests got together at Woodbridge Island to make a difference by cleaning up the beach.

We are so happy to set an example for SMEs in South Africa and we are fortunate enough to have the support in place to continue recycling, to continue on a path of zero waste and to continually inspire other businesses to do the same for their business and their staff members.

All came away from the event more inspired, understanding and more environmentally conscious. We hope they will implement some recycling in their homes!

International Children's day  - Aids Orphanage Outreach -1 June 2018

This month we took the winners of the May step-counting challenge to take part in an orphan outreach project where we were able to donate some treats and of course, our time.

As any good outreach project goes it touches the hearts of those lucky enough to take part and truly enables one to appreciate the gift of giving back.

Several enthusiastic staff members were awarded the time off work to participate in this community outreach project. The project entailed picking and packing beanies for the children to keep warm this winter with some kids’  snacks. The day was the spent with the children of Siyaphambili  Orphanage managed by Siphokazi.

We had a tour of the children's home, a discussion on how all the kids had ended up where they are today and how the homes help them to grow as people and support their needs. The orphanage has another branch in the Eastern Cape and has some international as well as local support.
The project ended with meeting the kids and bonding over a few photographs.

Spectrifin assisting fire-fighters - Somerset West - January 2017

A group of enthusiastic staff from Spectrifin recently joined forces and prepared much needed sandwiches and provided water for the brave fire crews tirelessly fighting to control the intense fires currently devastating areas of Jonkershoek, Somerset West and Paarl.

These brave men and women face the dangerous task of protecting lives and property  in very difficult terrain and extremely windy weather conditions.  Spectrifin strives to stay involved with some of real-life challenges that the community in the Western Cape are facing.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the brave firefighters and the residents of these areas that have been left homeless as a result of the wild fires.

Big Issue - Soup Kitchen - July 2017

The Spectrifin family pulled together to make a delicious, nutritious soup at the Big Issue as well as donated their time to help dish up soup for the homeless and those in need. It was a very humbling experience indeed; all staff members left feeling like they had contributed in a very meaningful and special way.It doesn’t matter how big or how small our contribution but each contribution makes a difference.

Give a little, get involved, make a big difference - Santa Shoebox Project - December 2016

We are committed to giving back to society and making a difference to the lives of people and the environment.
We participate in our community and support the initiatives of registered non-profit organisations
that are making a positive impact in the lives of individuals.

Spectrifin recently participated in the project, involving their staff members and pledging Santa Shoeboxes as part of their Corporate Social Investment programme.
The Santa Shoebox project is supported by an extensive network of volunteers across South Africa and Namibia – kind-hearted people who give freely of their time,

energy and expertise without remuneration.

The Project that originated in Cape Town in 2006 has grown in leaps and bounds, with the number of Santa Shoeboxes donated reaching in excess of 500 000 boxes.
These shoeboxes get distributed to more than 1000 recipient facilities, through more than 60 satellites around South Africa and Namibia.
